Appartment Burglaries: Who should be on alert?.

Apartment complexes are known to be areas that are at high-risk of theft, vandalism, and break-ins. There are many reason that apartment complexes make attractive targets for criminals. Firstly, the parking lot is full of cars parked over night, and very few apartment complexes have locked and secure gates. Secondly,most apartments do not have home-security alarm.Thirdly, Most apartment do not have security cameras on the premises. So, Once inside an apartment complex, they might find items to steal or vandalize

In the recent past, there was a case of burglary reported at Barry avenue in the West Los Angeles area. Two suspect had entered an apartment building  at around 4:00 pm in the evening. Once they made way into the apartment premises they forced their way into the recreation room. They happened to remove a Television  from the recreation area and fled away from  the location.

Police was able to get the glimpse of both these men on the security camera’s installed in the apartment premises. One of the suspects was described as a male Hispanic or White, 18 to 22 years of age, dark hair and stocky build.  He was also described as having a mustache and a goatee.

The second suspect is described as a male White, 18 to 20 years of age, with short or shaven brown hair, and thin build.

According to Police both of these men appear to be the same suspects that committed two apartment burglaries in the North Hollywood area and one apartment burglary in Van Nuys

It is good to know that some apartments managers are really concerned about the security, not only of their premises but also of their residents. But, are all the apartment managers and owners, really alert about the need of the security.
