Santa Monica: New victim to armed robbery

On 21st Decemeber 2009 around 9:22 pm, Budget Center Market  in Santa Monica located at 2300 block of Fourth Street was struck with an armed robbery.

Police officers after arriving at the location in Santa Monica determined from the employees that two men had entered the store wearing the mask and forcefully demanded money from the register while holding up their firearms. The victim gave the suspects approximately $300 in cash from the register and reported seeing the suspects go on foot eastbound on Hollister Avenue from Fourth Street.

An off-duty police employee observed the suspects running  and finally getting into a waiting vehicle.  Finally an on duty official found the suspect  and stopped the vehicle on Intestate 10 near the National/Overland off-ramp. Finally the two suspect were arrested and identified as Martin Garcia, 20, and Jonathan Sierra, 20; both from Los Angeles.

For the time being let us forget about Santa Monica, and think from a general perspective whether  “Are we all safe?”. Well the answers will be “Yes” and “No”.  Now why “No” is because we haven’t really thought of taking any precaution against being victim of such crimes.
